SUMMERSLAM REALITY

Well, at this point, wrestling fans are getting more than they bargained for as WWE seems to be on a rollercoaster of giving us surprises upon surprises that gets you jumping literally from your seat. From the return of The Man to the return of The Beast Incarnate to Cena falling short to the unexplained absence of The Boss
Unbreakable Features makes a recap of the main events that went down at the biggest summer event of the year straight from the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Note that (th) stands for title holder.

Let’s start off with the kick-off match:

Big E vs Baron Corbin (Kickoff Match):
So, a couple of weeks ago, Corbin had made away with Big E’s Money in the Bank briefcase while having an interview which must have necessitated this match. We saw a lot of back and forth between these two with Corbin constantly trying to pin Big E and insert himself as the rightful owner of the Money in the Bank Contract which still sounds and looks weird considering what Big E had to go through to win that contract. At the end, Big E prevailed as he caught Corbin who tried running off again with the briefcase, giving him the Big Ending for the win. As much as we are happy that we don’t get to see Corbin with the briefcase anymore, we do hope that Big E gets to use that briefcase eventually.
Winner: Big E

Now a summary look into the main events
Bianca Belair (th) vs Sasha Banks {Becky Lynch} (SmackDown Women’s Championship)

After so much anticipation towards the Wrestlemania re-match between Belair and Banks, we are told without reason that Banks was not able to make it to the event only to be replaced with the self-acclaimed Most Beautiful Woman in all of WWE, Carmella, who has been beaten thrice by the champion. Well, we didn’t really get to see them fight as we were graced with the entrance theme song of The Man, Becky Lynch who stunned the WWE universe. It does seem that motherhood looks good on The Man as she gave us something to really stare at as she made her way to the ring after being out of action for sixteen months. There had been speculations and little whispers for the past few weeks about a major return to in-ring action by The Man but nothing was confirmed till we eventually got to see her on the night scheduled for a Wrestlemania re-match between Belair and Banks. A major observation saw Lynch exhibiting her new found strength in her forearm as she clinched the SmackDown Women’s Championship within seconds. So much excitement for the return of The Man, we are hoping to see a re-match between Lynch and Belair and we hope that this time Belair is informed of who her opponent is cause we might just see some other person holding the belt on Friday night. You never know with these guys!
Winner: Becky Lynch (New Champ)

Nikki A.S.H (th) vs Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley (Raw Women’s Championship)
Having a triple threat match for any title usually doesn’t favour the title holder just as it did for our Almost a Super Hero champ who came out short as The Queen came out on top as she had promised, to become a 12-time women’s champion making her the most decorated female wrestler in WWE history. Flair seems to be giving the male wrestlers a run for their title holds and making female division more relevant as much as the fans will want to hate her, one can’t deny her accomplishments so far. As for Rhea Ripley, we will see where her brutality takes her to next but we do hope that she gets another chance at the title soon.
Winner: Charlotte Flair (New Champ)

The Queen back on her throne

Bobby Lashley (th) vs Goldberg (WWE Championship):
This is one match that rather had an ending that the fans were not satisfied with and is looking like there will be a re-match in the upcoming pay per view of Extreme Rules next month especially with The Almighty putting his hands on Goldberg’s son, Gage, but you never can tell. With MVP’s involvement in the match as he stroked Goldberg’s knee with his cane which there on saw Lashley dominating till the referee had to call off the match due to Goldberg’s inability to stand. We do hope to see what is in store for these two after this

Roman Reigns (th) vs John Cena (Universal Championship):
This year’s SummerSlam event was also tagged Cena’s Summer but it turned out not to be as most of the WWE universe expected to see history in the making as Cena clinched his 17th title which would have made him the most decorated WWE wrestler with the most title wins over The Nature Boy, Ric Flair. Cena even had a shirt to prove this point but the results came out different as The Tribal Chief came out strong retaining the title and proving once again that he is The Head of the Table. This means we will be seeing more of Reigns demand for an acknowledgement for as long as he holds that title.
Winner: Roman Reigns

The question on everybody’s lips right now is who is Paul Heyman gonna stand with? With the return of The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar, it’s a wonder if our most popular WWE advocate will be loyal to The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns, who he has helped nurture for close to a year. This is looking like a repeat of the Punk/Lesnar saga but we do hope that the best man wins as we seem to be looking forward to a match between The Tribal Chief and The Beast for the umpteenth time.

The Beast Incarnate is back

Here are the results of the other matches:
AJ Styles and Omos (th) vs RK-Bro (Raw Tag Team Championship):
We have new tag team champions in RK-Bro
Edge defeats Seth Rollins
Alexa Bliss defeats Eva Marie

The Usos defeats The Mysterios

Sheamus(th) vs Damian Priest (United States Championship):

We have a new champion in Damian Priest

Drew McIntyre defeats Jinder Mahal
